Mt. Carmel is a small but growing faith community in southwest Portland.

A Christ-centered faith community, our reason for being is to share God's love through worship, service, and community.  We strive to be a loving, accepting, and healing force in our church, our city, and the world.  Central to our mission is our work addressing poverty alleviation.

A Reconciling in Christ Congregation, Mt. Carmel welcomes all people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Come for a visit any Sunday morning to worship and stay to enjoy the feeling of community.

Mt. Carmel has ample parking both in front of the building and behind the building in the upper parking lot. In this upper parking lot is a handicap accessible entrance. The grounds include a mix of both grassy areas and flower beds. There is a fenced-in playground for the kids with a climbing structure, sandbox and playhouse.

The Rev. Matta Ghaly (they/them/theirs) is a Lutheran pastor of Egyptian descent, residing on Stl’pulmsh lands, near Chinook territory in Portland, Oregon.
